Boyd, six FSU players highlight All-ACC Preseason Team

Earlier this week, media members predicted that Clemson would win the ACC in 2013, with Tigers quarterback Tajh Boyd being named the conference’s preseason Player of the Year.

Now, Boyd is getting more preseason love. The ACC has released its all-conference team with Boyd being named as the league’s choice at quarterback. The redshirt senior received 59 first-place votes out of 65, with Virginia Tech’s Logan Thomas, North Carolina’s Bryn Renner and Miami’s Stephen Morris each receiving two first-place votes.

Boyd’s teammate, Sammy Watkins, was named all-conference wide receiver along with Michael Campanaro out of Wake Forest. Miami’s Duke Johnson received 58 first-place votes at running back.

Florida State leads all ACC teams with six all-conference selections, followed by UNC with four and Clemson with three. Maryland’s Stefon Diggs, who could work his way into the Heisman conversation as one of the most electric players in the country, was named all-conference specialist in the return game.
