One former starter among seven Nevada players no longer on roster

Nevada’s time at Mountain West Media Days came with some news that seven players were no longer part of the roster.

New Wolf Pack coach Brian Polian said the following players were no longer with the program (via the Reno Gazette-Journal): defensive linemen Cortez Woods and Kyle Papendorf; receivers Travis Gardner, Marquis Newell and Chance Early; and offensive linemen Sebastian Tretola and Abe Abdelkarim.

Of the seven, Tretola (pictured left) is the only loss that carries some significance. The sophomore started in a handful of games last season, but had some academic problems during the spring.
