And here we go again.
Earlier this week, Yahoo! Sports’ Charles Robinson reported that a video of an alleged assault incident involving Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde appeared to clear the player of any wrongdoing. Yahoo! Sports did not show the surveillance video; rather, Robinson cited a source with knowledge of the investigation.
Apparently, one reporter who has seen the video — multiple times, as she claims — begs to differ with that report. Mindy Drayer of NBC4 in Columbus claims the footage of the incident shows Hyde hitting or slapping, but not punching, the alleged female victim. Hyde reportedly struck the woman after she attempted to hit him.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to embed the video of the reporter talking about the, uh, video, but here’s LINK to the story.
Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer said during Big Ten Media Days yesterday that Hyde remains suspended as he continued to gather facts in the case, and was unaware of any “good news” for the running back. So this story is going to ride out a little longer, it seems.
