Report: Penn State, WVU close to finalizing home-and-home

Old school conference realignment be damned, West Virginia is scheduled to renew its rivalry with Virginia Tech down the road in 2021 and ’22. The Mountaineers are also close to finalizing a future series with another old rival. Reportedly.

Jeremy Fowler of CBSSports reports that WVU and Penn State are close to a home-and-home agreement that will start in or after 2020.

The Nittany Lions lead the overall series 48-9-2 so the word “rivalry” could be seen as a loose term, but the two schools did play every year from 1947 to their final meeting in 1992. It would be good to see PSU and WVU play again, whenever it might be.
