Thursday offseason one-liners

Wes Brown, Byron Jones AP

Some links from around college football on a Thursday…

– The attorney for Maryland running back Wes Brown says his client “has done nothing wrong with this investigation in Baltimore.”

– Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck’s motto is “row the boat.” His new motto should be “walk on fire.”

Keith Arnold over at Inside the Irish weighs in on the Eddie Vanderdoes story.

– The NCAA’s new enforcement policies begin taking effect today.

– Colorado is losing a veteran, albeit backup, cornerback for the year.

– SI’s Pete Thamel says Lane Kiffin is headed for a make or break season at USC.

– Does Johnny Manziel‘s game translate to the pros? The NFL Network asked five executives.

Georgia running backs Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall have a request: no more “Gurshall.”

Interesting take on Manziel from NFL execs.

If his father is correct, I don’t think they’ll have long to wait to get a chance to draft him.

    I still think he’s a 2nd – 3rd rounder unless he replicates his 2012. In that case… top 10 pick.

But I feel like him replicating 2012 will be much harder than you can imagine. There’s no “Who is that guy” anymore…

Maybe when Kiffen gets fired, Alshon Jeffrey will give him a job pumping gas at one of his gas stations
