WKU RB reportedly hit with a disorderly conduct charge

Western Kentucky begins preseason camp on Monday. So it’s only fitting that a player gets arrested the day before.

The Bowling Green Daily News reports that Hilltoppers running back Leon Allen was arrested early Sunday morning on a second-degree charge of disorderly conduct. The details of what led to the arrest are unknown, but Allen was released later in the day on $300 bond.

A WKU statement to the paper only said the program was aware of the situation and still in the information-gathering stage. What, if any, punishment Allen might face from first-year coach Bobby Petrino remains to be seen.

The Hilltoppers will again rely on senior running back Antonio Andrews this fall, but Allen was the team’s second leading rusher in 2012 with 317 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
