Ex-Ole Miss QB drops down to FCS level

Maikhail Miller

Two weeks after leaving Ole Miss, Maikhail Miller has found a new, albeit less competitive, college football home.

Murray State opened its summer camp Tuesday and, the Murray Ledger & Times reported, Miller was on the field with his new Racer teammates.  As Murray State plays at the FCS level, the quarterback will be eligible to play immediately in 2013.

“He’s got a big arm and pretty good knowledge of the offense in a very short time,” head coach Chris Hatcher told the paper. “What we’ve done at every position, is if you are the starter coming out of the spring, you’re the starter when we open fall camp.

“If you are a back up, we give the new guys some opportunities to see what they can do in the first few practices. We are going to work Miller a good bit early in camp and see if can be our starting quarterback.”

Murray played in two games for the Rebels ion 2012, rushing for 26 yards and throwing for as many yards as I did.
