WVU will lose corner to season-ending shoulder surgery

After playing in every game as a true freshman at West Virginia last season, Nana Kyeremeh won’t get the opportunity to duplicate that feat in 2013.

Bothered by a shoulder issue over the past several months, the cornerback will undergo surgery at some point in the near future to correct the issue.  As a result, Kyeremeh will miss the upcoming season and use his redshirt year.

“He went through all of spring with [the shoulder] being loose. It was loose when he got here and then he played last year with it loose,” head coach Dana Holgorsen said. “Then, practice two or three, it popped out.

“We were contemplating surgery with him anyway. We know he has a redshirt year. It’s going to end up being good for him. He’s going to go ahead and get it fixed right now. Then he’ll be back for spring.”

Kyeremeh played in 13 games last season, starting one of those contests.
