Texas WR has MCL sprain; no timetable for return set

Baylor Bears v Texas Longhorns AP

Texas is getting its first major injury news of preseason camp.

The school announced Monday evening that sophomore receiver Marcus Johnson suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee during practice. There was no official timetable for his return but team trainers are hopeful he can return before the end of fall camp.

Johnson didn’t see a lot of playing time as a freshman and didn’t record any stats, but many felt he was primed for a big jump in playing time in 2013. If he can’t get healthy before the start of the season, those hopes could be derailed, at least temporarily.
