UConn RB arrested, suspended

Despite the fact that we are just a little over three weeks away from the start of a new season on the field, players wandering into trouble off of it continues.

The latest to find himself on the wrong side of the law is UConn’s Joe Williams, who was arrested over the weekend on multiple charges. According to John Silver of snyuconn.com, those charges include alleged credit card theft, illegal use of credit card and larceny.

There are no details yet available as to what led to the arrest and charges.

As a result of the incident, the running back has been suspended indefinitely by the football program.

As a true freshman in 2012, Williams played in six games after enrolling early and participating in spring practice. He rushed for six yards on three carries, but was looking to see more playing time in the backfield prior to this off-field incident.
