Battery charge reduced for Buckeyes CB

As part of a handful of off-the-field incidents over the summer involving Ohio State players, Buckeyes cornerback Bradley Roby was arrested last month on a battery charge.

The good news for Roby is that his charge has been reduced. Via the Columbus Dispatch, Roby had his Class A misdemeanor battery charge lessened to a Class B misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Roby, who has started all 25 games the past two seasons for the Buckeyes, was allegedly involved in a scuffle last month at a bar in Bloomington, Ind. He has been practicing with the team, but Ohio State coach Urban Meyer has kept the possibility open of a suspension while he gathers the facts of the incident.

Late last month, Meyer suspended starting running back Carlos Hyde for at least the first three games of the season after Hyde allegedly struck a female victim in a night club. No charges were ever filed against Hyde, however.
