Auburn DB Demetruce McNeal reportedly arrested on marijuana charge

Auburn safety Demetruce McNeal is in the headlines again.

Per al.com, McNeal was recently arrested on a misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge and booked into the Lee County Detention Center. His bond was set at $500, which he posted in the morning.

McNeal was not at practice Saturday and first-year coach Gus Malzahn said he was still in the fact-gathering mode.

The senior is Auburn’s leading returning tackler (90), and in 2012 tied for the team lead in tackles for loss with seven. However, it’s been an eventful offseason for McNeal. He missed some practices in the spring dealing with a personal issue and has been sidelined in preseason camp because of a staph infection.
