Saturday offseason one-liners

Washington v Washington State AP

Some links from around college football on a Saturday…

– Could someone else besides Jadeveon Clowney go No. 1 overall next year? The Sporting News makes the case. Do with it what you will.

– Texas Tech could be down an offensive lineman for at least the first game of the season.

– The USC quarterback job is still open, but Cody Kessler had a great day on Friday.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins could return for Washington’s season opener against Boise State.

– Texas A&M athletic director addresses the Johnny Manziel situation to donors. It doesn’t say much, but here ya go.

– Manziel’s not the only one with his image being used. His former coach, Kliff Kingsbury, has asked that retailers refrain from selling any merchandise with his image.

– Former Auburn quarterback Kiehl Frazier‘s debut at safety could come sooner rather than later.

Spurrier’s gonna have to get some extra nurses hired just follow Clowney aroun to make sure he doesn’t get any major boo boos and to keep him healthy if he expects to be in the top of the draft later. I’d like to think he wasn’t goin to become another Darren McFadden, perish the thought. But who knows??

Clowney won’t be the 1st pick, if that really matters, unless he has a monster year. Once the season starts, it’s balls to the wall.
