Huskers lose DT Kevin Williams to season-ending injury

Expected to compete for additional playing time -- or even a starting job -- Kevin Williams will instead spend the 2013 season rehabbing yet another lower-limb injury.

Following practice Saturday, head coach Bo Pelini confirmed that the Nebraska defensive tackle will miss the upcoming season with a knee injury. Williams (pictured, No. 92) sustained the injury earlier during summer camp.

“This is the second time he has had a knee injury. I just feel for the kid.” Pelini said in quotes distributed by the team, “He’ll come back, it was a pretty clean injury. We think he will be able to rehab, and he will be just fine going forward.”

Williams played in five games in 2012 after returning from a knee injury. That medical issue cost the redshirt sophomore his true freshman season in 2011.
