After a year away from the FBS level, Taurean Nixon has reappeared at the same level of competition — and in his home state to boot.
Tulane confirmed speculation regarding Nixon’s future whereabouts Friday, officially announcing in a press release that the cornerback has transferred into the Green Wave football program. Nixon will be eligible to play immediately in 2013, and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Nixon spent the 2010 and 2011 seasons at Memphis, where he started 15 of the 19 games in which he played.
A three-star member of the Tigers’ 2010 recruiting class, Nixon was rated as the No. 42 player at any position in the talent-rich state of Louisiana.
