Sooners’ leading sacker reportedly suspended for opener, too

Cortez Johnson won’t be the only key defensive contributor sidelined by off-field issues when Oklahoma takes the field for its opener against Louisiana-Monroe.

According to FOXSports Southwest, defensive lineman Chuka Ndulue will be suspended for the season opener as well. The tackle was arrested on a complaint of driving under the influence in late June.

Head coach Bob Stoops would neither confirm nor deny the suspensions of either player, the Daily Oklahoman reported.

Last season, Ndulue played in all 13 games and led the Sooners with five sacks. He was moved from end to tackle this spring.
