And just like that, Charlie Weis and Kansas have themselves yet another transfer quarterback.
Just a couple of days ago, T.J. Millweard confirmed that he would be transferring from UCLA, saying he wanted to get back closer to where he grew up in the Midwest and the South. After a quick visit to the KU campus yesterday, Millweard has decided to continue his playing career with the Jayhawks.
The player informed Weis and some members of the coaching staff of his decision earlier today.
“It is official I am a Jayhawk,” Millweard told JayhawkSlant.com. “I called coach Charlie Weis and told him. He was very happy. Then I talked with a couple of the other coaches. I’m already starting the process of applying and I hope to be back and start school on Monday.”
Millweard will be forced to sit out the 2013 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules. He will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2014
A three-star prospect coming out of Coffeyville, Tex., in 2012, Millweard was rated as the No. 23 pro-style quarterback in that year’s class. He took a redshirt for his true freshman season.
