Former four-star WR transferring from Rutgers

As the Newark Star-Ledger bluntly put it, Miles Shuler is leaving the Rutgers “after two nondescript years in the program.”

Friday morning, head coach Kyle Flood announced that the wide receiver has indeed decided to transfer from the Scarlet Knights. No reason was given for the departure, although slotting on the depth chart would be a place to start.

Shuler came to RU with great acclaim, given four stars by Rivals.com as part of Greg Schiano‘s final recruiting class in 2011. He was rated by that recruiting service as the No. 16 receiver in the country and the No. 3 player at any position in the state of New Jersey.

After no receptions in seven games as a true freshman, Shuler then caught five passes for 71 yards in 2012.
