Texas DT abruptly decides to transfer

The depth on the interior of Texas defensive line has taken a hit mere days before the start of the new season.

UT officials confirmed Tuesday morning that Ashton Dorsey has decided to transfer.  There was no reason given for the senior’s departure, or if he will attempt to catch on elsewhere.

While Dorsey wasn’t a starter, he was expected to play a significant role in the Longhorns’ defensive tackle rotation.

In nine games last seasons, Dorsey totaled 10 tackles for loss.  That total was good for third on the team.

He was a four-star member of UT’s 2010 recruiting class.

Maybe he sees the possible writing on the wall conserning Mack Brown’s future if he doesn’t get the talent to play up to their potential.

    To wde2010

You are such a moron. First, what you said is false. There is no “writing on the wall”. MB will leave when he’s ready. Second, Dorsey Is a senior, it would make no difference to him…. 3rd it’s concerning. ..not conserning…geez

    chrisco,

Mack Brown gets throttled by OU and ends with a fourth place finish in a conference designed for them to dominate and Mack will retire for health reasons. Texas has done less with more money and top ten recruiting classes than a lot of top ten programs.
