Two Ohio Bobcats arrested on felonies, suspended

A starting member of Ohio’s football team (not Brady Hoke‘s “Ohio,” incidentally) is one of two Bobcats who have found themselves in rather deep legal water shortly before the start of the 2013 season.

The Athens Messenger reported late Wednesday night that cornerback Larenzo Fisher (pictured) and quarterback Greg Windham were arrested earlier that day and slapped with multiple felony charges. The former was charged with four counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, each a fourth-degree felony; the latter was charged with one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, also a fourth-degree felony.

The Ohio University Police Department stated that the arrests were the result of “ongoing, joint drug investigations” with multiple agencies at the local level.

As a result of the arrests, both players have been suspended indefinitely. The Bobcats will open the season against No. 9 Louisville.

This is actually the second off-field incident involving Fisher in the past few months, with the defensive back arrested for misdemeanor assault back in May. As a result of that arrest, Fisher had already been suspended for the first two games of the season.

Last season, Fisher started 11 games.

Windham is a redshirt freshman who is, or at least was, competing for the No. 3 quarterback job.
