Arizona State, Todd Graham talking contract extension

After a career that’s included one-year tenures at Rice and Pittsburgh, it appears Todd Graham is ready to put down some longterm coaching roots and please stop laughing.

According to the Arizona Republic, Arizona State and Graham are currently involved in talks that would extend the head coach’s contract and, presumably, include a bump in pay. ¬†Graham’s current deal pays hims a little over $2 million annually and runs through the 2016 season.

“We are having positive discussions with Coach Graham” is all an ASU spokesperson would tell the paper in regard to Graham’s contract situation.

In his first season at the school in 2012, Graham’s Sun Devils went 8-5 and the program won its first bowl game since 2005.

Oh look, it’s another crybaby Pitt fan sad because Graham dumped you for a prettier girl. Mark May, is that you?

I agree Graham is a POS and would leave in a heartbeat for another program.

Mark May sure has a lot of screen names on this site. Graham has won everywhere he coached. He went 6-6 at Pitt in his first year under a crappy AD. He took Rice to a bowl game…Rice! Pitt fans should blame their crappy AD for Graham leaving, not Graham. Plus, living in Tempe/Scottsdale, AZ vs. Pittsburgh….come on, no contest. Stop acting like little teenage girls who just got dumped, Pitt fans.

He’s texting his resignation right now…

Graham left 2 different programs after just 1 year. The way he left his Pitt players without telling them in person and wouldn’t communicate with the AD is a scum bag move. There is a reason that Graham was easily the #1 coach in this year’s ESPN player poll for coach they would least like to play for.

I have nothing against ASU, I just can’t stand Fraud Graham. ASU fans will eventually see- as long as another bigger program has the balls to approach Graham knowing the backlash that will come with it

Every coach is a mercenary, Pitt fans just can’t face the reality that their AD is a total goof who created the drama to cover his own rear-end (imo) and Graham took a better gig in a better location. This was over 1.5 half ago, get over it.

I have no problem with your school but your coach is a classless POS. I am a Pitt fan yes, but I was never on board with the hire.

When he leaves your school you will have some kind of mess on your hands. Mark my words. That’s just what he does.

I have never met Fraud but know several people who have had face to face interactions with him, and even while he was the Pitt coach lost respect for him

You’ve never met the guy, yet you know he’s “classless”?

Again, why don’t you look at the track record of your AD, he doesn’t seem to be the most popular guy around and maybe, just maybe, you’re not getting the whole story.

Seriously, 1.5 years later and Pitt fans are still crying? If Graham was so bad, why do you even care, you should be glad he’s gone.

I find it funny how these people continue to hate on Coach Graham by calling him names and saying “Just wait till he leaves ASU.” First of all, if he is such a bad guy and bad coach, then why should ASU fans be worried about him leaving for a better program? Why do pitt fans hate him? Oh I forgot, cuz he vanished from that hole in the wall city of pittsburgh like a fart in the wind for Scottsdale, AZ. But all this has got me thinking, is the hatred for Coach Graham stem from his leaving? Perhaps. But maybe just maybe pitt and its crybaby fans are mad because TG is a diamond in the rough and they know it! GO DEVILS!!!
