Number of suspended Gators trimmed by one

Well would you look at that. There’s good news on the suspension front for Florida.

Last night it was reported that five players in addition to linebacker Antonio Morrison had been suspended for the opener against Toledo this afternoon. Saturday morning, Florida confirmed the suspensions of four of those players: junior defensive tackle Darious Cummings, sophomore wide receiver Latroy Pittman, junior cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy and redshirt freshman offensive lineman Quinteze Williams.

All four players were suspended for violating unspecified team rules, while Morrison was suspended for one game -- it was initially two -- following a pair of offseason arrests

The lone player who was previously reported to have been suspended but will be available today is defensive tackle Jay-nard Bostwick. The freshman lineman has been listed as a backup.

The only starter among the newly-suspended four is Purifoy. Morrison was also expected to be the Gators’ starting middle linebacker.

All five suspended players are expected back for the road game against in-state rival Miami next weekend.
