USF, Illinois announce future home-and-home series

Continuing a trend of the past couple of years, USF has reached an agreement on a future series with yet another Big Ten school.

In press releases Tuesday, the Bulls and Illinois announced a pair of future games.  The Illini will travel to will travel to Tampa on Sept. 9, 2017, while the Bulls return the favor Sept. 15, 2018.

The 2017 game would mark the first football game between the two programs.

The Bulls will face Michigan State in East Lansing this coming Saturday, marking just the second game against a member of the Big Ten.  That will change in the future, however, as USF has seven future games against four teams from that conference.

In addition to the Illini series, USF is also scheduled to host the Spartans in 2018.  Along with the series with the Spartans and the Illini, the Bulls also have home-and-home series scheduled with Wisconsin (at Madison, Wisc. in 2014, in Tampa in 2017), Maryland (in Tampa in 2014, at College Park, Md. in 2015) and Indiana (in Tampa in 2015, at Bloomington, Ind. in 2016).
