Florida State DB switches to RB

Florida State ran away with a victory in Pittsburgh Monday night, but the Seminoles are thin at running back depth entering week two. Fortunately for the Seminoles, they have an athlete willing to make a switch. Defensive back Karlos Williams has moved to running back, Jimbo Fisher announced Thursday, according to WarChant.com.

Florida State running back James Wilder left Monday’s road ACC game early with a shoulder injury and he is currently listed as day-to-day for the Seminoles. The move gives Williams a chance to find a role on Florida State as well. A former five-star recruit at safety, Williams struggled at times against Pittsburgh Monday night and finally gave in to a position change. Williams will hope to have more of an impact in Florida State’s running game, helping out a group that also includes Devonta Freeman, who rushed for 52 yards in Monday night’s win. Freeman and Wilder were listed s co-starters for Florida State in the season opener.

Florida State is off this week and returns to the field at home next week when Nevada comes to Tallahassee.
