Munchie Legaux out for rest of the season

Unfortunately, the injury Cincinnati’s starting quarterback suffered Saturday was as bad as it looked.

Head coach Tommy Tuberville has confirmed the expected, that Munchie Legaux will miss the remainder of the 2013 season due to an injury he suffered in the loss to Illinois over the weekend. The school has yet to specify the exact nature of the injury Legaux incurred to his left knee.

Sunday afternoon, Legaux was transported from an Illinois hospital to UC Medical Center in Cincinnati, where he continues to be evaluated by UC sports medicine personnel.

With Legaux, who started the first two games, out with the season-ending injury, Brendon Kay will take over under center for the Bearcats. Kay has started two games in his career -- both in 2012 -- and will be backed up by redshirt freshman Bennie Coney, who has never played a game at the collegiate level.
