Wyoming’s depth at wide receiver will be tested this weekend thanks to punitive measures slapped on a player at the position.
In a press release, head coach Dave Christensen announced that Jalen Claiborne has been suspended for this weekend’s game against Northern Colorado. “A violation of team standards” was the only reason given for the junior’s dismissal.
Through two games this season, Claiborne’s eight catches are tied for third on the team, while his 94 receiving yards are fourth. His two receiving touchdowns are second-most on the Cowboys.
On the most recent depth chart, released a week ago today, Claiborne was listed as one of the starters at receiver. Senior Jarrod Darden was listed as Claiborne’s backup.
