FIU has already lost one of its top cornerbacks to issues in the classroom. Now, the same issues have cost the Panthers a top player on the other side of the ball as well.
The school, in the release of its weekly game notes package, confirmed that wide receiver Glenn Coleman will miss the remainder of the 2013 season due to lingering academic issues. Coleman had already been sidelined the first two games of the year for those reasons.
Coleman had started 12 games the past two seasons. During those two years, he caught 27 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns.
A week ago, head coach Ron Turner announced that cornerback Richard Turner would not play in 2013 because of academics.
