Already with broken bones in both hands, Purdue DB now out with broken leg

Poor Landon Feichter.

Playing with broken bones in both of his hands last Saturday, the Purdue defensive back suffered a broken leg in the first quarter of the Boilermakers’ win over Indiana State Saturday. As a result, head coach Darrell Hazell said Tuesday, Feichter will miss at least six weeks and possibly up to two months.

The junior underwent surgery earlier today.

“Everything happens for a reason,” Feichter wrote on Twitter. “Sometimes ur not sure y but it’ll all work itself out. Thank u all for the love and thoughtful words.”

Feichter broke both of his hands in the opener against Cincinnati.

Last season, Feichter led the Boilermakers in tackles. One of the players who could replace him in the starting lineup is his younger brother, Evan Feichter.
