Notre Dame leaves two behind for rules violations

Notre Dame will be without two backup defenders against Purdue as linebacker Kendall Moore and safety Eilar Hardy were left behind in South Bend due to a violation of team rules, the school said on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1, 251-pound Moore is a senior and is listed as the backup to Carlo Calabrese at middle linebacker. He has just one tackle in ND’s first two games.┬áHardy, a 5-11, 201-pound junior, plays behind Matthias Farley and also has one tackle in two games.

No word just yet on the specifics of the violations. The Irish defense should be just fine against a Purdue offense that’s averaging just 13.5 points per game so far this season.
