Pair of Tide starters ‘questionable’ for this weekend

Alabama may have kept their perfect record intact in College Station, but they didn’t come out unscathed.

Monday, head coach Nick Saban put “questionable” labels on bother cornerback Deion Belue and wide receiver Kevin Norwood. Saban said both player are “day-to-day,” and their availability for the home opener against Colorado State likely won’t be known until later in the week.

Belue suffered what’s rumored to be a turf toe injury during the second quarter of the win over the Aggies. Norwood, meanwhile, suffered a lower-leg injury late in the third quarter and he too was sidelined for the remainder of the game.

A preseason first-team All-SEC selection, Belue has started 16 straight games at corner for the Tide.

Norwood is third on the team with four receptions through two games, and had a 22-yard touchdown catch this past Saturday. Last season, Norwood was second on the Tide in receptions (29) receiving yards (461) and receiving touchdowns (four).
