It’s one thing to make your first career start against a highly-ranked SEC foe. It’s another matter entirely to make that start in one of the most hostile environments in the country… against one of the top defenses in the country to boot.
That’s the task facing Nathan Peterman, though, as Tennessee announced a couple of hours before kickoff that the redshirt freshman will start at quarterback against Florida in The Swamp. Peterman will face a Gators defense that rated third in the country in total defense and 17th in scoring defense.
In limited action this season, Peterman has completed half of his 12 passes for 40 yards. He has yet toi throw a touchdown or an interception.
The move to Peterman comes a handful of days after UT head coach Butch Jones opened back up the quarterback competition. Peterman will replace Justin Worley, who started the first three games of the season.
