Stanford OL David Yankey will miss WSU game

Stanford All-American guard David Yankey will miss this coming Saturday’s game versus Washington State due to a family situation, the school announced on Tuesday night via Twitter.

Yankey earned All-American honors last season as a left tackle. He has since moved to his more natural left guard position to make room for sophomore Andrus Peat at left tackle. The senior has been an integral part of one of the best lines in the country for the last couple seasons.

His replacement against WSU, sophomore Josh Garnett, is a very talented athlete who should more than hold his own against the Cougars.  He was one of the most highly-regarded players from Stanford’s remarkable 2012 offensive line recruiting class.
