DUI costs UCF a starting LB vs. Gamecocks

Will Mitchell

Will Mitchell was suspended for UCF’s Sept. 14 win over Penn State for unspecified reasons.  Unfortunately for the Knights and their hopes of knocking off the No. 12 team in the country, that suspension will bleed into this weekend as well.

The starting linebacker, the Orlando Sentinel reported, was charged with driving under the influence Sept. 7.  The arrest came after he was pulled over by university police, although no details of what led to the initial stop were given.

As a result, a school spokesperson told the Sentinel, Mitchell will be suspended for the home game against South Carolina as well.  It’s unclear if the junior will be reinstated for the AAC opener against Memphis the following weekend.

Mitchell had started the first two games of the 2013 season.

Don’t worry UCF fans, there is still an Amber Alert out of Bozo the Clown, I mean Jadaveon Clowney.
