Starting safety questionable for FSU’s game vs. BC

When Florida State takes the field and resumes ACC play Saturday, it could do so without one of its top defensive backs in tow.

Safety Tyler Hunter suffered a neck contusion in the scrimmage with Bethune-Cookman last weekend. The injury has left the junior’s status for this weekend’s game against Boston College as question.

Hunter has yet to practice since suffering the injury.

That’s up to the doctors,” coach Jimbo Fisher said when asked if Hunter will in the road game vs. BC. “They’re still evaluating him and we’ll see where he is, we have to wait day-by-day and just see. He’s in the game plan stuff and all that, he may be able to play, he may not.”

Hunter has started all three games this season after starting three of the 14 games in which he played last year. He has accounted for one of the Seminoles’ three interceptions in 2013.

If Hunter is unable to go, redshirt sophomore Keelin Smith is listed behind him at strong safety on the most recent depth chart.
