Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees has thrown three interceptions and Oklahoma has scored 21 points off of the turnovers. Oklahoma returned a Tommy Rees interception in the first minute of the game and converted another early interception for another touchdown to jump out to a quick 14-0 lead in South Bend. Oklahoma leads Notre Dame at the half, 21-7.

Oklahoma needed a fast start against the Irish, because odds are the defense was not going to be giving up a whole lot to the Sooners this afternoon. Oklahoma scored 14 points early and tacked on a late first half touchdown to convert on another Notre Dame interception.

Blake Bell is once again starting at quarterback for Oklahoma. In the first half Bell completed 12-of-16 passes for 102 yard and a touchdown. He has also rushed for 34 yard to lead the Sooners on the ground at the half.

The game has actually been a much closer game than the score may indicate, which goes to show how important turnovers have been. Notre Dame’s defense has been playing fine for the most part, but the offense is once again struggling. Notre Dame ended up taking a knee at the end of the half to a small chorus of boos from the frustrated fans.

    Oh wow.

They actually play a good opponent every once in awhile, with similar results.
