Oregon RB De’Anthony Thomas injured against Cal

Oregon running back De’Anthony Thomas hurt his leg returning the opening kickoff in the Ducks win over Cal on Saturday night.

The junior speedster appeared to grab his right leg after the play as he was leaving the game. He later returned to the sidelines in the second half on crutches. Based on video replays, it appeared he rolled his right ankle.

The so-called “Black Mamba” has 338 rushing yards and six touchdowns so far this season, which leads Oregon.

The Ducks didn’t miss a beat without him versus Cal, though. Sophomore Byron Marshall rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns in his place. No word yet on how long Thomas is out, but look for Marshall to step up, as well as talented freshman Thomas Tyner.
