UGA’s Murray, TCU’s Carter claim Week 5 Camp honors

A player who was largely responsible for a huge Georgia win that kept the Bulldogs in both the SEC and BCS title races has seen his performance recognized with a national weekly honor.

Quarterback Aaron Murray was named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the week coming off his play against LSU. The senior threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns in the 44-41 win over the Tigers. He added a rushing touchdown as well.

This is the second time Murray has claimed Camp honors this season, the first coming after Week 2.

On the defensive side, TCU safety Sam Carter laid claim to the weekly Camp honor. As part of a defense that forced numerous SMU mistakes, Carter was credited with five tackles, two interceptions, one sack and forced one fumble. One of his picks was returned for a touchdown in the 48-17 win over the Mustangs.
