Report: Oregon RB De’Anthony Thomas to miss Colorado game

Oregon junior running back De’Anthony Thomas will miss Saturday’s game with Colorado due to an ankle injury suffered against California, Comcast Sportsnet Northwest reported on Tuesday.

Thomas hurt his right ankle on the opening kickoff of the game against the Bears and he did not return as the Ducks romped in the rain, 55-16. He was on crutches during the second half.

“I was just trying to make a move and it was slippery out there,” he said of the injury.

Despite missing most of the Cal game, Thomas remains Oregon’s top rusher on the season with 338 yards. He also leads the Ducks with six touchdowns.

But Oregon should be fine without him against Colorado. The Ducks are favored by 38.5 points and have more than enough depth at running back to get by. Look for sophomore Byron Marshall to carry the load and for freshman phenom Thomas Tyner to get a lot of looks as well.
