Texas WR Mike Davis cleared to play, not starting

Texas is looking to keep the good vibes going tonight as they travel to Iowa State, where many teams have left unhappy on a Thursday night before. The Longhorns will have wide receiver Mike Davis available to play tonight, according to Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News via Twitter, although he will not start for the Longhorns.

Davis injured his ankle in that abysmal loss at BYU a few weeks back. Without Davis on the field the Texas offense lost a clear play-maker. Even after missing some playing time, Davis still leads Texas with four touchdown receptions and is second on the team with 223 yards entering Thursday night’s Big 12 contest in Ames, Iowa. Texas is still playing it safe with one of their top receivers as he gets back in to the offense.
