California starting center Chris Adcock out for the season

Sonny Dykes AP

California starting center Chris Adcock will miss the remainder of the 2013 campaign after injuring his knee in practice on Wednesday, the school announced on Saturday.

Adcock, a junior, started each of the team’s first four games at center this season. He has played in 19 games with 15 starts during his career with the Bears.

Senior Mark Brazinski is Adock’s backup and should slide into the starting role against Washington State.

Adock’s injury is a big blow to the Bears since he brought experience and stability to a very young offensive line. He’s the third Cal player this week to be lost for the season, the others being linebacker Chris McCain and safety Alex Logan.
