Broken arm ends starting Arkansas corner’s season

Will Hines AP

A game wasn’t the only thing Arkansas lost in Gainesville Saturday night.

In the second half of a 30-10 loss to Florida, cornerback Will Hines suffered what was later diagnosed as a broken right arm.  Head coach Bret Bielema said Hines was taken to a local hospital to have the arm rest.  He was expected to return with the team Fayetteville, although the player indicated he was still in the hospital and wouldn’t be home until Monday.

In a tweet posted to his Twitter account early Sunday morning, the sophomore wrote that the injury was of the season-ending variety.

Hines had started the last 15 games for the Razorbacks, the last nine in 2012 and the first six in 2013.  Redshirt freshman Jared Collins is behind Hines on the depth chart and would be the prime candidate to take over the starting job.
