In the run-up to yesterday’s Arkansas-Florida game, at least one Gator defensive lineman accused the Razorbacks’ offensive line of being “a little chippy… a little dirty.”
Following Florida’s win, it was a Gator offensive player accusing an opponent on the other side of the ball of some liquid dirty tricks.
After muffing a punt, UF’s Loucheiz Purifoy found himself on the bottom of the pile with, among others, UA linebacker Jarrett Lake. At some point during the fight for the ball, Purifoy said, Lake, well, spit on him.
“That’s probably the worst thing that happened to me at the bottom of the pile,” Purifoy said according to the Palm Beach Post. “But I just can’t react and do something to him.”
Of course, bad, evil things happen at the bottom of piles. Among the worst, a football is not the only ball in play. Spitting on someone is right up there as well.
Suffice to say, Purifoy, who returned an interception 42 yards for a touchdown in the win, was not pleased with the unexpected waterworks. He didn’t react, though. Why?
“Have you seen our coach?” the cornerback said, referring to head coach Will Muschamp.
