Maryland QB C.J. Brown day-to-day after concussion

Maryland quarterback C.J. Brown is day-to-day after suffering a concussion in the Terrapins’ 63-0 loss to Florida State, head coach Randy Edsall said on Sunday.

Brown suffered the injury during the second quarter after getting hit hard by Seminoles Christian Jones and Jacobbi MacDaniel. He remained on the ground for several minutes before walking to the locker room under his own power.

The senior finished just 6 of 14 for 82 yards against FSU. He was also held to three yards on three carries as the ‘Noles bottled up the Terrapins’ read option plays. Despite the rough outing, Brown is still ranked 13th nationally in passing efficiency.

Caleb Rowe came in for Brown and threw for 119 yards on 9-of-17 passing.

“I thought Caleb went in and really did some good things yesterday,” Edsall said. “He’s always made himself ready to play if the situation calls for it.”

The 4-1 Terps will play Virginia this coming Saturday.
