USC LB Morgan Breslin not expected to play in Arizona game

USC interim head coach Ed Orgeron said on Tuesday that he doesn’t expect either all-star linebacker Morgan Breslin or wide out Marqise Lee to play against Arizona this Thursday.

Lee’s missing the game is no surprise, but Breslin’s status was a bit more uncertain coming into the week. The senior pass-rush specialist has a hip injury, but no information has been released on its severity.

Breslin is one of the most dynamic defensive players in the country. He already has 7.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks despite missing most of two games this season. So he’ll be missed against the Wildcats.

Freshman Jabari Ruffin, with six tackles so far this year, will take his spot. Ruffin is an incredible athlete with a huge upside who just needs a bit of seasoning.
