Texas A&M to sell turf that made Johnny Manziel a star

If you are a dedicated Texas A&M fan looking to resurface your lawn with the same grass Johnny Manziel became a star, better start planning your budget accordingly. Starting Monday, October 14, Texas A&M will begin selling turf from Kyle Field by the pallet, with 450 square feet of genuine and authenticated Kyle Field turf selling for $400.

Texas A&M announced the selling of official turf Thursday and shared some of the details for interested buyers. The turf will begin to be stripped from Kyle Field after Texas A&M’s final home game of the 2013 season, on November 9. Fan will be able to purchase harvested pallets at $400 but will have to arrange to pick up the turf in person on November 10.

Texas A&M will also be selling off a limited number of single square of grass at $20 a piece. So how much is that turf worth? That depends on how many pallets are made available, and how many single squares are available, as well as how big the square will be. Whatever it amounts to, the Aggies will be seeing plenty of green by selling their green.

Texas A&M will obviously be installing a new turf at Kyle Field, which will be in place in plenty of time for the 2014 season, and it would be logical to assume it will be in place prior to Texas A&M’s spring football schedule.
