Boone to be a game-time decision at QB for Duke

A little over a month after an injury temporarily shut him down, Anthony Boone could be back this weekend for Duke. Possibly. Maybe.

Officially, the Blue Devils quarterback is listed as questionable on the team’s injury report for Saturday’s game against Navy. Boone suffered a broken collarbone in the Week 2 win over Memphis and has been sidelined for the past three games -- two of them losses.

Duke has won both games this season Boone started, for what it’s worth.

In tandem with the official injury report designation, head coach David Cutcliffe said how Boone performs today will likely lead to what will become a game-time decision on his availability for the non-conference game.

“We’ll really see what he looks like (Friday) in as much of a game atmosphere as you can create,” Cutcliffe said. “And then we’ll know a little bit more.”

In less than six quarters of action this season, Boone completed 27-of-36 passes for 275 yards. Boone had one interception in his 36 attempts; Brandon Connette, who has replaced Boone as the starter and who would start again against the Midshipmen, has thrown six in his 117 attempts.
