Second-leading receiver one of two Clemson players suspended

As Clemson tunes up for what should be an epic showdown with Florida State two Saturdays from now, the Tigers will be at less than 100-percent offensively for their tuneup game this weekend.

The school announced via a press release Friday evening that wide receiver Germone Hopper (pictured) and defensive back Ronald Geohaghan have been suspended for the Boston College game tomorrow. The duo were suspended for the usual “violation of unspecified team rules,” although head coach Dabo Swinney did throw in a “poor behavior” in his statement on the punitive measures.

The release did not specify whether the suspensions were for just the BC game or if they would bleed into the Oct. 19 game against the Seminoles.

The redshirt freshman Hopper is currently second on the team in receptions with 16 and is fifth in receiving yards with 117. His two touchdown receptions are tied for third.

Geohaghan, also a redshirt freshman, has played in three of Clemson’s five games this season.
