Clemson ready to bring the (record setting) noise vs. Florida State

Clemson will host Florida State in what is clearly the game of the week not only in the ACC, but the entire country this weekend. With so much anticipation for this particular game, Clemson is hoping to capitalize on the opportunity with a record-breaking day.

Quarterback Tajh Boyd is closing in on the ACC’s all-time touchdown record held by former North Carolina State quarterback Phillip Rivers, needing just three more to tie the current San Diego Charger and his 112 touchdowns. But Clemson has their sights, or their ears, set on a different kind of record.

According to Orange and White, Clemson is hoping their fans will help the school set a Guinness World Record for loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium. Yes, this is an official world record, and it was actually just set by the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs last weekend in Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs dethroned the Washington Huskies, who set the record back on September 15.

“We have seen numbers approaching the world record previously, but with the magnitude of this game, the size of the crowd and the passion of Clemson fans, there’s little doubt we will be able to set a new record,” director of athletic marketing Mike Money said according to Orange and White.

If you are attending the game, Clemson is hoping to set the record on the first defensive series of the game, which should serve as a good early test to see how Florida State freshman quarterback Jameis Winston can handle the situation.
