TCU’s Casey Pachall out for Oklahoma State

As reported earlier, TCU quarterback Casey Pachall is likely to return to the Horned Frogs offense soon, but it will not be this weekend.

According to Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s TCU beat reporter Stefan Stevenson reports via Twitter Pachall will not dress for the game, making him completely unavailable when TCU travels to Oklahoma State. Pachall is still recovering from a broken arm, but his return could be looming.

If he does return next week when TCU hosts Texas, he could breathe new life in to the TCU offense. TCU is ranked 8th in the Big 12 in scoring and 9th in total offense.

Trevone Boykin will continue to lead the offense in the absence of Pachall. Boykin has completed 61.5 percent of his passes but has five touchdowns to four interceptions. Boykin also filled in for Pachal last season, completing 57.2 percent of his passes with 15 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. TCU has the defense to compete in the Big 12, but f the offense continues to be inconsistent there is little chance to do much in the conference. If Pachall returns to form, there will be still be time to settle down things on offense and find some stability.

TCU is 1-2 in Big 12 play. Battling back for a shot at a Big 12 title may be a stretch but the Horned Frogs are also hoping to avoid their first season without a bowl trip since 2004. At 3-3, TCU needs three more wins and has a tough second half of the season in front of them.
