It appears the Wisconsin faithful won’t have to fret about whether or not Jared Abbrederis will be available this weekend.
Following practice Tuesday, the Wisconsin wide receiver said “a lot” when asked what it would take for him to not play against Illinois Saturday. Abbrederis was in a green no-contact jersey for practice yesterday after sitting out Monday’s session.
“We’ll see, that’s the plan,” the senior said when asked about playing in the conference game. “I felt good (Monday), so I knew I’d be able to come out here and run around.”
Early in the second quarter of the Badgers’ win over Northwestern this past weekend, Abbrederis suffered a head injury and did not return. Head coach Gary Andersen said in his postgame talk with the media that the injury didn’t appear serious and was optimistic for his availability for the upcoming game.
Abbrederis is 15th nationally in yards per game (107.7) and 21st in receiving touchdowns with five. His 5.8 receptions per game is No. 40 in the country.
